When an individual registers to attend Ateneo Australs 2008, they agree to abide by the Code of Conduct set out by the Organizing Committee. This Code of Conduct is established to ensure that everyone at the tournament feels comfortable and is free from the threat of harassment, embarrassment or unfair treatment of the basis of his or her sex, religion, sexual lifestyle choice or cultural background. The Code of Conduct will be provided at registration when participants arrive in Manila. Each participant will be asked to sign the Code and in doing so agree to abide by it.

It should be noted that the AIDA Constitution stipulates that:

16.1. No participant may: 

16.1.1. Use offensive language or behavior; 

16.1.2. Make denigrating comments on the basis of age, race, sex, disability, religion or sexuality; 

16.1.3. Harass, threaten or intimidate other participants or in any way detract from their enjoyment of the tournament; 

16.1.4. Damage or destroy any property that does not belong to them; 

16.1.5. Harass, threaten or intimidate delegates to vote in a particular way.

16.2. The provisions of 16.1 will apply:

16.2.1. During debates 

16.2.2. During any formal event organized as part of the tournament; 

16.2.3. During any social event organized as part of the tournament; 

16.2.4. on transportation organized as part of the tournament; 

16.2.5. in accommodation organized as part of the tournament;

16.3. Participants include all: 

16.3.1. debaters

16.3.2. adjudicators

16.3.3. organizers

16.3.4. coaches 

16.3.5. observers

16.4. During debates, debaters will:

16.4.1. Treat the occasion, other debaters, and the adjudicators with respect; 

16.4.2. Respect the rules of the competition; 

16.4.3. Not disrupt or detract from another debater's speech or the adjudicator's comments; 
16.4.4. Accept the adjudicator's decision.

16.5. During debates, adjudicators will: 

16.5.1. Treat the occasion, other adjudicators, and the debaters with respect; 

16.5.2. Respect the rules of the competition; 

16.5.3. Not disrupt or detract from a debater's speech;

16.5.4. Announce the result;

16.5.5. Explain the reasoning for their decision; 

16.5.6. Limit their adjudication to ten minutes;

16.5.7. Make constructive comments to assist debaters.
